reimagining prepaid
verizon was one of the largest cell phone providers in the world, but seeing more and more younger users opting for other providers because they offered better prepaid plans. capitalizing on their equity as the nation’s best network, verizon developed a more flexible, customizable, user-friendly prepaid plan and asked set agency to concept a product launch campaign. i worked with jay and a couple others out of the new york office to develop two initial concepts. the approach we landed on (option 2) is frank, understated, and comically clear.

option 1: verizon you
people are not plans. people are students, travelers, artists and chefs. verizon understands that no two people are exactly alike, and the purposes that phones serve are as unique and diverse as the people using them. with verizon you, verizon anticipates the needs of each individual; enabling them to embrace their lifestyle and go wherever life takes them.

option 2: prepay by verizon (selected)
people want clear, honest information that lets them feel like they’re making an informed decision, not being sold to. prepay is an alternative to the standard contract: customizable service on the nation’s best network. that’s it. the visuals are bright and playful while the language is disarmingly transparent and straightforward.
